Some time ago, I saw interestin macro foto, so tried to do similar result with CG. Well, not really there, but close...

As usual 3ds Max + Depth of Field in Photoshop... (the results of DoF in Max were seriously hideous. Still wonder where it went wrong) :/

you're right the DoF on Max is really taking time with no satisfying results..

I like it.

I'm not 100% sure what it is (to me, it kinda looks like the tightening keys on a guitar). But great job. You're "string" looks nice & real.
